I really don’t remember a time when I didn’t sew. My mother, grandmother, and many aunts all were accomplished seamstresses. My earliest memory is of making a doll quilt with fabric scraps, using my child’s hand-cranked sewing machine when I was 8 years old. By junior high, I was making most of my own clothes. I took sewing in home ec. in high school and learned how to do things properly! I continued making most of my own clothing and window treatments throughout college and early marriage. When my first daughter was born, I enjoyed sewing for her too. Throughout my two daughters’ lives, I always enjoyed making their special occasion dresses and decorating their bedrooms. Now I enjoy sewing for my five granddaughters.
Although I had careers in teaching, counseling and financial planning, sewing was always the constant passion in my life. Now that I am retired, I finally have the time to devote myself to my sewing passion. Because of requests from friends and family, I decided to make it a business. I continue to do dressmaking, alterations and window treatments. My newest sewing passion is machine embroidery, which I enjoy very much.
Sewing has always been my passion
